Nothing is being displayed on the monitor
A friend dropped off her Dell Dimension 4600 for me to look at, and when I turn the computer on, the light goes on and it sounds like it is booting, but the startup doesn't show on the monitor, the screen stay black. I am using a flat panel monitor that I took off my computer that was working fine and is on. Any ideas?

Hi, capt2stu,
On the back of the case are four diagnostic lights. Do you seen anything other than four green lights? Also, some 4600 models came with both integrated graphics and a video card. So check the back and you might see two VGA ports. Try both.
