Odd Bootup question

I have a GX260 running XP SP3. Whenever I boot up I get an Explorer window with the contents of C:\Program Files\Dell. Sometimes I have to close it more than once. Our IT department does not know why I am seeing this. Any suggestions on how to not see this admittedly minor nuisance?

Hi Bill Harrison,

Follow below steps which can resolve the issue:

Configure Selective Startup options:

  • Open the Start Menu.
  • In the search line, type msconfig and press Enter.
  •  (OR)Open the Control Panel (All items view) and click on the Administrative Tools icon, then click on System Configuration. Close the Control Panel and Administrative Tools windows.
  • If prompted, click on Continue for the UAC prompt, or type in the administrator's password.
  • Click on the Startup tab.
  • To Disable All Listed Startup Programs, Click on the Disable all button.
  • Click on Apply.
  • Click on the Boot tab, then check the Make all boot settings permanent box and click on OK.
  • Click on Yes
  • Click on the Restart button to apply.

Awaiting your response!

Thanks, Rajesh. I disabled DLPSP.exe and when I restarted my system it was gone.
