Onboard NIC on Dim 4600

Is it sufficient to disable the onboard NIC through Windows in device manager, or can/should it be disabled in BIOS?  All I can figure out is I have a conflict between onboard and Road Runner. I've got a PCI card to try.  Thanks for any advice.

Disable the internal NIC from the BIOS--then install the new card, alot of intergrated NIC present with problems--a NIC card should be the answer.

Thanks, Grumper. I've always disabled video/audio in windows, but I guess it's better to do it in the BIOS. Plan on a clean install tomorrow or Sunday, so I'll put the card in then. Can't stand those meaningless errors in event viewer. Got any tricks for killing DCOM?
