This has happened in other models, with CPU's that will work. The Dimension E510/5150 models can be upgraded to a D945 CPU. However, as there were several different Dell motherboard part numbers used over the production of these models all the motherboards except one part number board will give the same Incompatible CPU at boot up and F1 must be pressed to continue with the bootup.
It's an inconvenience but one that must be tolerated if a compatible upgraded CPU is used in these models.
Fortunately, its not prompting for F1 to continue at boot. I read where the Optiplex 330 and 745 did the same and Dell made a patch in a bios upgrade. Why didnt they do the same for this model? Does anyone know if you could flash the 320 with a 330 bios to fix that error message? Would be interesting to find out!
