Optiplex 7010 - Processor upgrade
Hi,
I would like to upgrade the processor, it currently has an Intel Core i3 - 3220 [Amin Note: Service Tag Edited per TOU policy] What Processor options can I select? I know it is Socket 1155 LGA and I would like Intel Core i7-3770K or Intel Core i5-3570K. Can I use one of them?
Thanks.

No you can't use Either of them.
The 7010 uses Q77 Chipset

The Power Supply is one factor the Bios and Microcode is another factor. So you can or can't based on Limitations of the Power Supply and Bios version.
Either way the only supported processor for warranty is the one that came with the unit.

I'm not sure what you mean. Why not? Q77 chipset is compatible with both i5-3570K and i7-3770K.
Yes power supply and bios is another factor, this is why I ask.
Warranty is not main for me now.
I checked technical guidebook, but there is high-end config as i5 3770. I don't know what is typing error i5 or 3770?

SFF and USFF typically have the SMALLEST power supply. Most likely scenario for your box is post to Machine Halt with Incompatabie processor message.
Worst case it burns out motherboard and power supply and never comes on again.:emotion-3:
