Optiplex 745 Mini-Tower GPU Upgrade

Hi,
I am looking into upgrading the gpu of this 745 that I currently don't have yet. I have my eye on an Asus NVIDIA GT 710, but was wondering if it will fit in terms of height. I read online someone expressing concerns about it needing two slots space, but that was never clarified or refute in the discussion. Would this one fit?

If not, what other options do I have in a similar price range? I would prefer to go for a 2GB card, but will settle for 1GB if I have to. Thanks for your time.

Regards

745 Mini towers are the same as GTX 520/620/740/745/755/760/780 as far as the slot goes.

You will not like the performance of that GT710 because its an X4 card and will run at X1 speed in your Optiplex.

The Slot limitations are length of the card and width.  There are no disputes only facts.  2 Slot wide or 10 to 12 inch long cards will not physically go into any size model.

If a card bracket uses 2 slots it will have to be cut or removed.

ASUS GT740 fits fine.

GT730 is also fine

Thanks for the info SpeedStep. I just have a couple more queries though: The links you provided are for the US, I'm in the UK. I don't believe they ship abroad.  I found a version of the 730 on Amazon.co.uk and was just seeking clarification that it too would be okay - I'm not savvy on differing versions of cards.

Thanks again.

This one is likely fine.  Cant tell on the one you linked how thick the heatsink is.

Thanks for the link. The one I posted has dimensions 25 x 40 x 6 centimeters if that helps.

Does not help.  The video slot is 1 wide and 6cm would be too thick with 11 other dependencys.  If its a dual Slot card you will have to remove or CUT the bracket.  With that if its too long it WILL NOT PHYSICALLY GO IN.  Cards with the MINI ITX moniker are usually fine.
