Optiplex 9010 HD4000 triple monitor operation

I'm trying to get 3 monitors working on an Optiplex 9010 with onbloard HD4000 Graphics.  The documentation indicates that 3 monitors should work and I've seen posts that indcate others have it working.

I can only get any 2 of the 3 monitors working despite all 3 showing in the Win10 Device Manager.

At the present I have both Dell monitors running via the display port connections and using Displayport cables (Not Adapters)

The monitors shown in device manager are are as follows, Dell U2410 (Display port)

Dell P2213 (Display Port)

benQ GL2460 (VGA port)

OS is Win 10 Pro with latest patches.

Bios is updated and current. Note that there is no seeing in the Bios for multiple monitors.

CPU is i7-3770 3.4 GHz which I understand is Gen 3 and supports triple monitors.

Any clues?

Thanks

Phil

Phild23,

You can click the link below for information using 3 monitors with the Optiplex 9010.

Easiest way for 3 is Triple Head to Go

http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/gxm/th2go/digital/

  • Adds up to three monitors to your notebook or desktop computer
  • Connects to the DVI-DL or VGA video output of your system
  • Support for DVI monitors, with an optional adapter for VGA monitor support
  • PC and Mac compatible

I've already read that FAQ.  If you read my post you will see that I already have the first suggested configuration, i.e. 2 monitors connected via display port and one via the VGA connector as per recommendation. As stated the W10 device manager sees all 3 monitors but only the 2 display port monitors are allocatable in the display control panel.

The triple head to go adapter is not in the FAQ.

Sorry, I was replying to Jesse's post, I shouldn't need additional hardware, the documentation clearly states that 3rd gen i7 and HD4000 supports triple monitors.   I'm starting to suspect that it has something to do with the Dell monitor mix I'm using.  I've read that the HD4000 has 2 pixel clocks, one of which is shared by both display ports.  In my Device manager the U2410 shows slightly different properties to the 2213, the 2410 has (DP) , the 2213 has Digital (Display Port) I recall reading somewhere in the Intel FAQ that both monitors must be Digital, display port and of the same resolution.

same issue for me but with the 5040's

and once you do get them to work....they will blank out randomly.

Dell will be of zero help.

Just ordered a Radeon Pro WX 4100 that should fix the issue (and give 4 outputs).  The blanking issue I've seen on my dual monitor setup at work.

I'm pleased to report that the Radeon Pro WX4100 installed without issues, downloaded the driver and it was away, not the cheapest solution but worth the money, might even add a fourth monitor.....

Thank you for your recent posts.  I was searching for the exact same solution.  I am trying to drive monitors with a DVI input, do I need an adapter to go from mDP to DVI, or can I use a passive cable?
