I have a Optiplex GX1 tower and currenly have a 6G drive.  Does anyone know the largest drive I can add that is supported by the motherboard.

40 gigs Works fine.

More than 80 gigs is a problem unless you have WIN2000 or XP

More than 120 gigs is a problem for WIN2000/XP unless you add the service packs and add the registry changes to support 48 bit LBA.

40 gig drives are cheap now.

My GX1 with BIOS A07 thinks that 60 gig drives are only 12 gigs.
Too many cylinders I think.

Bios higher than A07 does not allow CPU upgrades Higher than 600MHZ pentiumIII.
