Physical problem installing internal blu-ray drive into XPS 435T

Greetings,

I just purchased a new Samsung internal BD drive, and I'm trying to install it into my XPS 435T.  The problem is that there is no apparently way to physically get the drive into the empty bay.  I figured out how to remove the plastic "chimney" over the CPU fan; that freed up a lot of room, but not enough.  See first image.

I either need to know how to remove the entire drive cage from the chassis, or how to remove the front paneling such that I can slide the drive in through the front.  I found two latches on the interior of the front panel (second pic), but it doesn't seem to help.  Can someone please offer a way that I can install my drive?

Many thanks.

Hi Neal,

You didn't indicate whether you are following the service manual but here it is. The instructions appear fairly clear to me.

Success, many thanks.  I was unable to find the manual you linked; most appreciated.

I installed the drive without a hitch, and it appears to be working.  The only catch is that the chassis has an external drive-door button that does not adequately line up with the eject button on the drive itself.  I know the drive is aligned properly, since the screw holes line up.  But currently, the only way to eject the drive (aside from with software) is to use a pen to reach in and push the button manually.  A minor nuisance, but at least it works.

If you have a suggestion in this regard, I'd be happy to hear it, but the primary problem is solved.
