Please help choose order of drivers when I get the "Display Driver Stopped Responding and has recovered" message

Running:  Win7 - XPS 8100 - 8GB - 64 bit OS

Display Adapter : ATI Radeon HD 5450

Service Tag <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>

Hi,

Recently I've been getting this message as the computer momentarily freezes and then recovers.

"Display driver AMD driver has stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

I checked the support for drivers in Dell and received conflicting results.

When I checked using system analysis, I was given a list of 54 updates system wide. How could this be possible?

When using my service tag,  I received the following result:

<ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>

Do you think this is what I should use, and if so, can you tell me which one I should update first? Finally, do I have to uninstall the old drivers first  and update through the device manager?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Jane

The 54 updates is not necessary. You should only update a driver to correct a specific issue. You do not need to remove the video card driver before installing a newer one.

* Go here
* Click Download
* The file should save to your windows desktop
