Where can I get a description of the new point system?

Go into your profile and choose edit. Click on the "Site Options" tab. It's in there, but unfortunately it doesn't show in the posts for some unknown reason.
Edit: The site locked up while posting this and gave me an error page. I forget what it said, but it's not the first time. I wasn't credited any points as well

As long as you cannot spam your way to points heaven, its all good whatever the point of them is.

Hello All, I noticed the "Points" as well. I also don't have a clue as to what it may or maynot mean. I'm sure it means something to someone.
I don't post here for "Points", or anything else for that matter, except to try and help others with issues with their Dell products and software.
I must admit, that I have been fooling with computers for over 28 years, and I learn something new here almost every day.
My only problem is remembering the new lessons I learn here.
So for me, it's not about "Points" but more about helping and learning.

Thanks, had a time with it, the dumb thing was not just counting visual character and spaces, but also the hidden HTML as well. Ended up copying my XPS signature over to Word, pruning it via "word count", then porting it to Notepad to strip the Word formatting.
Cannot use Arial 7.5 font now, cause the signature character checker sees/counts the coding too.

This is a pointless post, yet I get points, what are points?

:^/ I've been curious about these, too, and here's what I've noticed along the way:
• Posts made before the system was put into place receive no points. (Naturally)
• Each post made since is worth five points.
• Each time someone clicks the "Reply" link below your post, you get a further fifteen points. (So, posts that interest people get more points than those that don't.)
• Each time someone rates one of your posts, you get about six points per star given to you.
• Each time you rate someone else's posts, you get one point per star you give.
• No points are currently given for rating your own posts. (I suspect that this once worked, but has now been fixed.)
• A post selected as a solution is worth more points. It also gets echoed at the top of the queue, perhaps for more points.
• One user has over 30,000 points, and all of his posts are rated at five stars. (I won't name him; it's bad form and unnecessary.)
;^) Apparantly, it's not impossible to spam the system.

After all this time, no one has figured out what points are for yet?

Points ok, but has anyone figured out the break between Copper, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond?? (anything above Diamond?)
