Power outage now only boots in Safe Mode
I have a Dell XPS 400, XP Media Center edition Service Pack 3. Last night, a big storm blew through and we had a power outage. when I tried to restart my computer, it wouldn't go past the win xp logo with the move bar across. I restarted it in Safe Mode but don't know what to do next. Any suggestions? I cab'at access the internet on that conputer so am using my laptop to write this.

It sounds like the power outage may have corrupted the hard drive and/or Windows. Have you tried the "last known good configuration" option, instead of safe mode?
If that doesn't work the recovery console may. HERE is the Microsoft info on this.
