Print screen

My new dell 660 came with a new keyhboard.  There is a new key for "PrtScn".  What is needed to make it work?

Hi male1,

Welcome to the community.

I would like to inform you that PrtScn would take a snapshot of the screen you currently have on the system. You can press the PrtScn key on the keyboard and then open MS paint to paste the screenshot of the screen.

If the key is not working please let us know so we can assist you further.

Thanks and Regards

Hi Sandeep:

Thanks for the post above. Occasionally, the PrtScn key stops working for me, can you help advise the steps needed to activate the PrtScn? I read on a forum that it requires pressing the FN key (unfortunately, there is no FN key on the Dell OptiPlex 990 keyboard).

Please help.

Thanks

Depending on the version of Windows, on some systems you press the "Windows" key and Prt Scn to make it work.

On my Win 8 ultrabook, that combination automatically saves the screen shot in a subfolder called "Screen Shots" in the Photos folder.
