RAID adapters with Inspirion i620-1040??
I cannot get it to boot. I have tried a RocketRaid 2300 and a Syba PEX40008, both are PCIe SATA RAID cards with bios.
The system hangs on startup. The i620 bios recognizes the Rocket Raid as a disk device available for boot, but it does not call up the RR's boot interface.
I put the card into a brand new Inspiron 560 and the RR's boot bios came right up, same with the Syba
Can the i620 not have a different boot device??
The system works fine otherwise -- when I booted into the Windows 7 (preinstalled) it immediately recognizes the RAID card(s) and tries to install drivers. I connected a spare drive to each card and the drive shows up as a secondary in the preinstalled OS.
I am trying to do a new install using a RAID 1 as a primary drive.

There is no reason to believe it should not if the BIOS works correctly.
RAID cards with BIOS use the Int13h for booting and any PC BIOS should recognize this.
I have a Dell 560 with AMI bios which is running a RocketRaid 2300 RAID1 for boot drive with no problem.
