Ram upgrade Dimension 5150
- This evening I have physically installed a 2GB ram upgrade (2 x 1GB) to my 1GB ram machine using Dell memory. I rebooted the machine and its works ok, phew! But when I run My Computer, Properties it still displays 1GB of ram in the spec. Should I physically remove the memory and reinstall or is this likely to be a software issue?
- Novice, first time I ever opened the case.

Did you fully install the modules all the way into the slots and are the 'clips' closed into notches on the modules.
Check how much memory is recognized in the system setup [BIOS]. F2 on start up.
