Replace Processor in XPS 8500
Can I replace the processor in my XPS 8500 with the processor from a XPS 8700?
Do I need to use any Thermal grease if I can replace it?

Good day Joediver13 ,
The class of processor supported by 8700 and 8500 are different ,hence would not suggest you to proceed with the swap .
Below is the table with the comparison of processors which are tested to be working fine on 8700 and 8500,

No. The XPS 8500 is a Socket 1155, while the XPS 8700 is Socket 1150.
