They're probably hot keys for specific functions. Closest I could find was a blog post that says, quote:

The Dell SK-8165 Studio Consumer Multimedia USB Keyboard (OEM by Silitek of Lite-On Group) that comes with Studio XPS 8100 has a compact keyboard layout similar to laptop keyboard.
 
This is a nice keyboard with 12 multimedia buttons on it, which provide one-key shortcut to open your web browser, email client, Computer Explorer, Calculator, Media Player, sound control and DVD player control.

Have you tried using any of them? Look in the Keyboard control panel to see if there are any options to assign the function to those keys.

Can someone tell me where I can some information on the Sk 8165? I ahve googled several site and can't find any layouts. It came with my new Studio XPS 9100 system.
