Serial Number Cross Reference
Hello all,
New member here. Im trying to find out some info on my sister's Dell Desktop. We are basically trying to upgrade the video card on it but i cant find any info on the coputer itself to see what will work with her machine.
I have a product key, full serial number, partial model number of "DHM", and a manufacture date of 8-8-02.
Is there a way to reference the serial number and get the full model number of her machine?

Based on the Date that Model DHM could be a Dell™ Dimension™ 8250 Series per the link below
Model DHM. March 2003 Rev. A02
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim8250/
I have also seen that refer to
DELL (Model: GX240) DELL (Model: GX260) DELL (Model: GX270) DELL (Model: GX280)

The Service Tag IS the Serial number and will Identify the actual model at the

Site.

Thank you so much. Yea, it still boots and is working fine. She just wants me to upgrade her video card so she can play Sims3.
Sounds like ill have to go to her house and crack it open. Ill also try the F2 thing as well.

Open the Cover and look at the motherboard.
Find a Dell part number and I can identify the model from that.
Sometimes what looks like Capitol OH aka O is actually a ZERO 0

This is not a Dell issue. You did not say what Dell Model or What Os version.
Windows Media Player error C00D11BA
Windows Media Player can't play the file because there is a problem with your sound device, such as a sound card or sound controller.
Things to try:
Quit other programs that might be using your sound device, and then try to play the file again.
Install an updated driver. To see if an updated driver is available, use Windows Update, go to the sound device manufacturer's website.
If you have multiple sound devices installed on your computer, try using a different one. The selected sound device might not support Secure Audio Path (SAP).
To use a different sound device
Make sure your sound device is working properly. To troubleshoot device problems, see Windows Help and Support or refer to your sound device's documentation.
Make sure you have a sound device installed on your computer. If not, install a sound device (such as a sound card), and then try to play the file again. If you can't install a sound device in your computer, you might be able to resolve the problem by attaching USB-based headphones or USB-based speakers to your computer instead.
