Sound card not detected

Hey out there, i need some help

Occasionally my sound stops working. i go to sound and audio devices and nothing is detected. It's as though my card isn't even there (which it plainly is, all speakers and everything are plugged in correctly)

i know it's not the connections, because without changing anything, after rebooting many many times the sound will come back.

i have a XPS 710, and the closest thing to a specification on my card is :

NR603 Card, Multi-media, Audio, SB0467

Since you apparently have a separate SoundBlaster sound card (not the integrated - on the motherboard), suggest you reseat the sound card.

Reseat - with the PC powered off, disconnect the speaker connection, open the case and remove the sound card.  Then reinstall the sound card, making sure it's fully and correctly seated in the connector.  Reconnect the speaker cable, close the case and power on.  When Windows starts, it  MAY detect the sound card as "new hardware" and if itdoes it's OK.
