Speakers crackle - Optiplex 745 - Windows XP Pro
My speakers crackle terribly. I have tried the trouble shooting, the volume settings, and installing new drivers. I even upgraded the bios. My sound card is SoundMAX-Integrated-Digital-HD and I got the drivers from the manufacturer. What can I do?

You should only use the Dell supplied SoundMax Drivers. We have found, on here, that in most cases non-Dell drivers will either not work or not work correctly.
Have you verified that it's the PC? e.g. have you connected a headset to the GREEN speaker jack?
HERE is the Dell sound drivers.

Thank you! I used your link to get the Dell drivers and that seems to have worked. I had uninstalled and installed drivers that I had gotten from the manufacturers sites a half dozen times and none of them worked this well!:emotion-15:
