Studio 540 Overhaul

Hello Community,

I have been looking into a minor overhaul for my computer lately and I noticed that alot of AMD processors are a much better value than Intel (Sorry if dell is Pro-Intel) and I noticed I was going to have to change out my motherboard too. So I was wondering if it is possible to completely replace my motherboard, and if it is possible to have the 32GB of RAM the motherboard supports.

I have a 540s and it appears to be a standard mATX form factor, so I'd say yes.

If you want to avoid reinstalling Windows, I suggest you buy a third-party SATA card if you don't have one already -- it is used as a boot device for the first boot, after which Windows will update the chipset drivers. Afterward, you can remove the old devices from Device Manager, but we can get to that later.
