Trouble with new video card in xps8300

Hi there! I was trying to install a GeForce GTS 250 in my system to replace the Radeon HD 6450, but it does not recognize it for some reason. I put the video card in and it would reboot to windows just fine, but then it said something like no AMD graphics card detected, please try again. So then I went to nVidia's website to try and detect graphics drivers, but it wouldn't detect the card either. I have played with it for a little while, and it is driving me crazy. Any help is really appreciated =)

Did you uninstall the driver and CCC software for the HD 6450 before putting in the Nvidia card?  You need to do this first and it would not hurt due to the fact that you are changing from AMD to Nvidia to use Driver Sweeper also so you get a clean install.
