Video Card Compatibility

Hey all,

I've decided to get an AMD HD Radeon 6670 as an upgrade to my current AMD HD Radeon 6450 (My PC is the Inspiron 620). However, I don't know what my current video card type, and I don't know much about graphics cards. I would like to know what type (PCI, AGP, Express) of graphics card I currently have, and what type of the Radeon 6670 I need to buy.

Thanks

Hi Agoraptor,

Your system has one PCI Express x16 card slot. That's the kind of video card you need to get. Here is your service manual for help with the replacement procedure.

Good luck!

Sorry, I don't understand the question, do you mean the physical size, or wattage, or what?

If you are refering to the 6670 card's physical size, go to the manufacturer's website to obtain the card's dimensions.

Is your PC a 620 MT, or the so-called Slimline version?

6670 WILL NOT FIT, WILL NOT WORK if you have the 620S aka slim desktop.  It works fine in the Inspiron 620 Tower.

I mean the physical size of the card. Will there be a specific number of inches that fit or do they all fit?

There are a couple of slim 6670 designs, including a Sapphire single-slot.

Agoraptor

The Radeon Radeon HD 6670 1GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 as shown HERE should fit in the Inspiron MT 620 case, just fine.
