WORD and other files suddenly missing
My Dell Inspiron 570 suddenly is missing some files from my WORD documents file. The format that I was previously using has also changed. Can anyone suggest how I may retrieve the missing WORD files?

Version of Windows and version of MS Office?
Scanned thoroughly for malware recently?
Reboot and press F12. Go to Utilities partition and run hard drive tests to see if it may be failing. And back up the rest of your files on external media asap, to be safe.
Then run chkdsk on hard drive:

HOORAY! Apparently, I'd done some Back Up and was able to recover the lost files .

I'd still run tests on the hard drive to see if it's starting to fail, and then scan for malware. You don't want to keep losing things. :emotion-5:
