Re: Webcam Problems

Hi Manningmatt,

Have you tried reinstalling Webcam Central. You might want to try installing the device driver.

Re: Webcam Problems

Hi Manningmatt,

Welcome to the Dell Community

I would request to run a hardware test on the webcam. In order to do that, please follow these steps

  1. Go to All programs and launch "Dell Support Center".
  2. Once launched, select "PC Checkup".
  3. Select "Run Custom Scan".
  4. Select "Camera" and click "Run Test".
If the test is successful, please uninstall  the Webcam Central and the webcam drivers and re-install them
  • Re-install the webcam driver.

To reinstall the webcam driver, perform the following steps.
    1. Close any applications that are currently using the webcam (this may include web pages). Save and close any applications that you are currently working on as the computer will need to restart.
    2. Click Start.
    3. Right-Click Computer.
    4. Click Properties.
    5. Click Device Manager in the upper left-hand corner.
    6. Click Imaging devices
    7. Right-click the Integrated webcam or USB camera.
    8. Click Uninstall.
    9. Confirm the uninstall process by clicking OK.
    10. Reboot PC.
To reinstall the webcam application,  perform the following steps.
  1. Click Start.
  2. Go to Control panel
  3. Select "View By" Small Icons.
  4. Select Programs and Features.
  5. Uninstall Dell Webcam Central.
  6. Reboot PC

Re-install  the Webcam Central Application
