Win 98 to Win 98 SE?

I figure this has to have been asked before but at the moment i can't find it. I have Win 98 on a PII XPS R450 and was looking in the Microsoft site at the upgrade to 98SE. does this upgrade work ok these days or are there perils and pitfalls? Obviously I've got an OEM version of W98, this make any difference? thanks.
