Wireless network upgrade for Optiplex 790 USFF?

I bought an ultra slim Optiplex 790 and wanted to add the optional wireless. I bought a T186D wireless card, removed the daughter card and installed it. I was told the RU297 was the correct antenna. But the plug on the antenna is larger than the port on the wire off the card.

Did I buy the wrong card, or the wrong antenna? The wireless card seemed to work without the antenna, but I wanted to do it correctly.

Hi dmconsulting,

Thanks for posting.

From the information I've found, it appears the RU297 should the correct antenna. Your connector should look like this one:

That's what my connector looks like, but the plug on the antenna is slightly larger. I will look again when I get home.

That is the antenna I got:

Here is the card I bought:

Said it was for Ultra Slim, but the instructions for adding wireless on the USFF show the PCIE card being installed to the slot on the board. So I removed the metal cover and popped the card with cable out and installed them.

I will double check the plug again. Thanks for the info.

Hope you were able to get this figured out.  If not, could you send pictures of the plug and the receptacle plug too?  Thanks.

Ok, here is the plug and outlet. Looking at the close up it looks like the outlet is a bit chewed up. Still can't get them to fit together, but I didn't want to force it.

So looking at it again yesterday, the plug on the antenna looks larger than the plug on the card. No matter how I tried, the two do not connect, so I am at a loss at this point.

Wrong Card?

Wrong Antenna?

Something isn't correct. What can I do to resolve this? Thanks for all the help.
