XPS 630 Initial Set Up...

I will be recieving my system soon and was wondering if anyone had any advice as to hooking everything up and doing my initial boot-up. Does the system come with a set-up guide?

It does.

Nothing tricky or special.  Plug everything in and power-up!

the mobo has many issues... the hdd light, fan control and most important the pci-e slot limited to x8 lanes. just search the forum, most issues about the xps630 being discussed already.

Plug the Keyboard and Mouse into the rear usb holes.

Try installing any old games/software before your 21 days expires. Some systems have hade conflicts with the NVidea performance drivers and ability to use DVD/CD drives to load and play some software.

Sounds like this is a good computer to stay away from. I don't need those kind of problems .

Shdbcamping1,

When you bought your xps420 was it new or refurbished?

I need another xps420 and I am trying to decide if I should buy new or get

one that has been refurbished. When you buy new ,shipping is free,if you go

the other way you have to pay for shipping, Looks like about $200.00 difference

of course I am figuring a 24 inch monitor(refurbished) I don't know if I keep

fooling around they will all be gone

I bought my 420 new. It has a great deal (US) w/24" monitor. Go to their site and configure the top line model. Mine was $1850 delivered. I never saw much of a savings at the outlet after you add shipping. You'll be able to get better processors and hardware in most cases buying new also.
