I had an 8200 and decided to hand it down to a friend while it was still pretty useful, and bought an XPS630 as well. I'm very happy with the purchase. Vista does take some getting used to, but is similar enough to XP in many ways. The UAC (User Account Control) features with all the popups get really annoying though.

What kinda tips are you looking for? If you are looking for a good game, maybe pick up The Orange Box bundle. It's a great value, and while Half Life 2 isn't the absolute newest game out, it is really a lot of fun and a gorgeous game. I played a little bit on my last computer, and while it was good, I was always trying to push the graphics a little hard so I was always compromising between graphics and FPS. I got my XPS630 with Q6600 like yours but I had dual Nvidia 8800GT's instead of Dual ATI 2600 XT's.... in any case your machine, like mine, should be able to play with very high resolution and graphic setting and still be smooth. Would be a good buy if you haven't played those games yet.

I just replaced my 8250 with an XPS 630, and am very happy. The Orange box is worth the money and TeamFortress 2, is a lot of fun. As for tips, just play around with the system and see what it has to offer.
