XPS 730 Overclocked and CPU Fan

Hi,

I run q6600 at 3ghz, my idle temperature is 28, and playing games it is around 45, do those sound right?

Also, is the CPU fan variable speed? I played around with Nvidia Performance, so I'm not sure if it messed up CPU fan settings or not, but when I play games now the fan always stays at ~1750rpm. I'm not sure if it was speeding up more before I used Nvidia performance, but is the fan speed supposed to go up when cpu is under load?

Thanks

Those are very nice temperatures, good and cool. The fan speed varies just a little in my experience. With your temps it probably doesn't feel like bothering. :)

Download a program called HWMonitor, install and run. Those temps seem way low. There are two temp reports one is how far from limit and how hot they are. HWmonitor will tell you the actual temps of CPU,GPU,and HDDs. Always good to have a second opinion. Post the results back.
