gtx 600 series doesnt work with xps 8300 there is a problem where no display shows up, look it up no one with a xps 8300 is able to use any of the gtx 600 series cards. you can get any one of the 500 series which will work, or any ati card it doesnt have a problem with those.

if you check these links out it shows that the gtx 670 and 680 dont work and dell wont fix it they just say to get xps 8500 since they messed up something with their motherboards that wont display gtx 600 cards on the xps 8300.

Hello Hidrolic,

XPS 8300 was shipped with the ATI Radeon HD 5870 which is 11 inches/28 centimeters in length and requires a 6 pin PCIe power connector. ASUS-GTX660-DC2O-2GD5 has a length of 10.2 inches and power supply requirement of 225W with a 6 pin PCIe power connector.

XPS 8300 has 460W power supply with a 6 pin PCIe power connector and hence the ASUS GTX 660 is compatible with it.

Please write back if you have any further queries.
