XPS 8700 and GTX 1050

Hello, I'm a newbie with hardware.

I wanted to know if I can upgrade my XPS 8700 (GT635 and i7 version) to a PNY GTX 1050, or if I had better upgrade it to a GTX 750ti. I am in a urgent need of upgrade, so I need to know if this computer would work with a GTX 1050.

I have this CPU for a time now. I bought it four or five years ago.

Hello!  If I remember correctly the stock Power supply is 460W in general so you shouldn't have any issues.  I'd spring for the 1050ti single fan that doesn't require an external 6 pin connector if you can, but if not the 1050 should do nicely.  Just make sure its doesn't need a 6 pin external connection if you don't have it.

It should work. you MUST update BIOS to A10 for Win7/8 or A11 for Win 10.

the stock power supply has two six pin PCIe power connectors so if the card needs external power it will work without any problem.

I'd upgrade to at least a 1050ti 4GB, and if you can afford a little more get a 1060.
