XPS 8700 okay to install second hard drive in third bay?

HI,

I'm installing a second hard drive.  The 8700 has a secondary hard drive bay (in the cage below the primary hard drive) and a third hard drive bay (on the front of the computer).  The third drive bay looks like an easier install.  Is it okay to put a secondary drive in the third bay and leave the second bay without a drive?
