XPS 9000 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745: Newest Driver?

Hello.  I recently set up my new XPS 9000 (Windows 10) which has a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745 graphics/video card.  I'd like to update it to the most current version.  The dell support site doesn't show a new Win10 version of this driver (just many other GTX ### drivers).  However, in device manager, I went to the properties and the driver did find and complete an update.  The computer started acting screwy afterwards so I immediately rolled it back to what came loaded onto the machine.  The current driver is version 10.18.13.5385 (8/7/2015), according to the device manager.  Does anyone know what the newest driver is for this card which is fully compatible with Win10?

You can download the latest drivers from Nvidia at nvidia.com.  Since the card is not an 'OEM special', you shouldn't have any issues.

BeamerMT79, is there a way to tell what my version is using the same nomenclature as the NVIDIA site?  Their driver versions use a 3XX.XX nomenclature while I'm only able to see the driver version in my device manager which has a different nomenclature of 10.18.13.5382.  How do I do an apples to apples version comparison?

Hmmm.. It should be in the Nvidia Control panel application which you can get to in the control panel or by right clicking on the desktop and selecting Nvidia control panel.  The over all driver number will have 3XX.XX on it.  The 10.XX.XX and so on number is probably a subset revision number of that specific driver component.

Regardless I can guarantee you the drivers on Nvidia's site will be much newer then what you have installed from Dell.

Beamermt79 - thanks for the tip! I opened the NVIDIA control panel and in the systems info it gives the 3XX.XX number. It matches what SpeedStep posted afterwards. I went to the NVIDIA site and the newest GTX745 driver available is version 361.91 (2/15/16).

I have zero experience downloading and installing a driver like this. Any I've done in the past have been automatic through the device manager. How do I go about installing the new driver? i.e. what folder does it go on, do I need to uninstall anything first, what process do I follow, etc. I don't want to mess up my new computer!

Thanks SpeedStep.  If I want to install the newest driver, how do I go about doing that?  I asked a few specific questions in my latest response to Beamermt79.  Never done a driver update before.  Thanks!

You download the new driver package either 32 or 64 bit version.

Depending on 32 or 64 bit you UNINSTALL the old driver and reboot to the default VGA Driver.  Do a custom install not express install and DO NOT ALLOW THE GEFORCE CRASH EXPERIENCE TO BE INSTALLED.  Uncheck that option and do all the others.

Then you run as administrator the updated Driver.  NEVER Do Beta Drivers only use WHQL certified Drivers. WIN10 VERSION is different than Vista 7 8 version.

362.00 Seems to be current you waited too many days.
