XPS D333 Stand-by Mode

I have an XPS D333 w/ Win98 and my PC won't go into stand-by mode. I get the blue screen of death when it trys, then windows dosen't let you choose stand-by any longer.

Is anyone else having this problem? If so what was your solution, if any??

I believe it was a general protection fault. After the error occured several times, I was no longer able to select stand-by from the shut down menu. the GPF error is basically a guess at this point. I cannot re-create the problem.

What was the full error message you got when you received the blue screen? This would shed some light on why this happened.

Bob,

This may be an issue with a device driver or software running on the system. It could also be a corrupted windows registry. If you updated any drivers prior to the issue appearing, I would try going back to the previous version and seee if you have the same issue.

I re-formated the HDD about a month ago. I not sure if I put it in stand-by mode at the time. Should I try doing a scanreg/restore to see if that works.

Are there any known conflicts. I would hate to re-format my HDD again.
