It has two so you will be fine with the stock power supply and the GTX 660 Ti.

XPS 8700 is shipped with 460W power supply. Please refer to the following link http://dell.to/13I4GKa and click on Specifications. Please use Internet Explorer only.

Depends on Processor and Video card BASIC XPS 8700 is a 460w power supply.

First I want to thank all who have responded to my post. Perhaps it would help if I explained what I intend to do and what information I need. I plan to purchase an XPS 8700 this fall. I want to replace the GPU with an Nvidia GTX 660 Ti. The GTX 660 Ti requires a 450 watt power supply and two supplementary power connections. I know that the power supply in the XPS 8700 provides enough power, but how many supplemental power connections does it have?

Thank you Kelbear1 for your response. You would be amazed at how difficult it is to get straight answers to simple questions out of Dell agents. I chatted with two sales people about this and neither of them knew the XPS 8700 well enough to give me a reliable answer. They kept referring me to Tech Support. I have yet to find a way to chat with Tech Support about a computer that you do not own. The system demands a Service Tag which you simply do not have. Dell needs to have a real tech available to answer these kind of questions for prospective customers.

Using a Win-XP Dell 1545 Laptop with IE, I was able to look at the XPS 8700 specifications.
However, I did not find an icon or link to the PSU specs. This, of course, may be my oversight, one of my DUH questions.
But I'd appreciate your pointing me in the right direction.

If I upgrade from the stock gpu from the AMD unit to this GeForce GTX 660 Ti am I able to run triple screen setups from the one card and stock PSU?

Go to www.geforce.com/.../geforce-gtx-660ti you will find all the information about the GTX 660 ti. From what I see in the specifications, the GTX 660 ti will support up to 4 monitors.
The stock PSU on the XPS 8700 is 460W. Nvidia recommends 450W of system power for the GTX 660 ti. Dell offers the XPS 8700 with a GTX 660 (OEM). However, the GTX 660 (OEM) requires only 130W for the GPU while the GTX 660 ti requires 150W. The question becomes can you draw 150W and still have sufficient power for the rest of the system? I do not know. Getting reliable technical answers from Dell sales people is impossible (they simply do not know). It all depends upon how much reserve power Dell built into the system. My guess is that the stock PSU provides only enough power for the GPUs that they are offering. Therefore, I recommend that you figure on upgrading the PSU in order to support the GTX 660 ti. If you have to upgrade the PSU you might want to consider the GTX 670 or one of the GTX 700 series.

Thanks for the info, I'll be honest I am not the most computer savy. As far as the gtx700 series cards I think thet might be pushing my budget. I pretty much only play iRacing on this computer as of right now so I think the 660Ti might be all I need for now. I'll look into the gtx700 cards but if I can't see a huge performance gain between the gtx660Ti and gtx700's I'll just stay with the gtx660ti.
