aAfter Vidoe Card failed reverted back to integrated graphics, cannot get any res higher then 800x600

I am going crazy!! after a few days of messages like"Windows has recovered from a device faliure and needs to reboot..." I then checked the event viewer and it points to my video card, the log stated the drivers for this device (my geforce 4mx 420) have been stuck in an infinite loop... and my resolution and color would revert to the lowest settings and look bad. So I disabled the Video card and  re-enabled the Intel integrated graphics that came with my PC, which is a 4500 s, 256 ram, 80 gig HD, OS is WIN XP Home, My problem is now I cannot set the resolution any higher then 800x600 I have tried reinstalling the drivers and no luck, I would be most greatful if anyone could offer any help, you would have my undying gratitude :) Thanks  K.
