add video card for triple monitors to Optiplex 790 from Optiplex 755

I just got a new Optiplex 790. I want to add an additional video card to support a third monitor. I thought I could just take the DVI card out of my old Optiplex 755 and put it in the PCI slot on my 790 and I'd be good to go. When I tried this, I had no such luck. Has anyone else tried this or have any tips on how to solve this issue?

Thanks,

Bryce

Hi,

3 monitors is supported in these systems.

Put a graphic card in the PCIE x16 slot (wired as x4). Then you can add a monitor on the graphic card, integrated dp and on the intergrated vga port.

In this setup and with a non w7 o/s, the multi-monitor option in bios shouldn't be visible in the bios.
