bluetooth device missing

i just upgraded to windows 8.1 and my on board bluetooth device is missing from device manager. tried to install it from broadcom. website and it just hangs with yellow triangle bluetooth device not found. i then tried to install it from my dell resource cd and error message is states compatibility issues. i searched dell support site and it seems that dell has not up dated the drivers . does anyone have a work around for this.
