cant find motherboard U2424 for my XPS
Perhaps its just me, but trying to find specific info on the motherboard U2424 that dell has in my XPS is proving to be IMPOSSIBLE!!! can someone please point me in the right direction? the mobo is fried, and I need to know the specs on the mobo so i can compaire it vs alternatives

That's the XPS Gen 2 board. It uses an Intel 875 chipset with ICH5R and Intel Gigabit LOM. Specs for these parts can all be found at Intel's site.
The board layout and PSU are proprietary to Dell, so you can't just go buy any equivalent ATX board and slap it into the chassis.

Yes, ebay is selling the U2424 as an upgrade for Dell 8300 computer.

Wrong, third party vendors, also sell Dell OEM motherboards.
You can use Google to locate them.
