data disc with photos on it won't load on new computer with windows vista

I put all my photos from my old computer that had windows xp on it on a cd. Now when I put it in my new computer that has Vista, it won't show anything in the folder. I try to explore the disc but nothing happens. The cd drive shows that there is a disc in it but nothing shows up when it's opened. Can anyone help me? I want to keep my pictures, that's why I put them on a disc.
