defragging lost all my files
When I ran defrag on XP I lost all my files! Only shells of programs remain. Will any of the commercial file recovery programs help me to recover any of my files especially the document files.

Hi Pickles,
I have two suggestions. First, this forum is for hardware issues. My suggestion would be to ask for help in the Microsoft OS forum.
Second, it sounds as though you do not have a back up plan. I'd suggest you get something like an external hard drive.
