dell precision 670 video slot problem
hello all.i have a dell precision 670,which works normally.
the only problem i have is the pci ex slot. the x16 one
if i fit a video card in it,nvidia quadro nvs 290,or the sapphire hd 5670 i get no signal to the monitor,but the computer works normally,it boots,i get into windows.
if i fit the same cards in the pciEx x4 slot,it works.
everything.
what can be the problem?i have no light codes,no beep codes.

for some reason,today, the computer has seen the slot.
only it had seen it pci express x1.aida reported in use @ x1 nvidia quadro nvs 290.
i installed the drivers,and performed a reboot.
then nothing.
it didn't recognised the slot,again.
are some capacitors involved?i have checked the motherboard and the power supply,and not one popped up as suspiccious.
any help would be greatly appreciated
