dimension 1100 2.53 ghz celeron

I have a Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz and want to put it in my Dell Dimension 1100 desktop. Is it possible? Searching the web, I get conflicting information. Currently the Dell has the Intel Celeron 2.53 Ghz processor .

Please post the sSpec number of the P-4 3.0GHz processor.

Socket 478 P-4 Northwood or Prescott processors, should work in the B110/1100, with an FSB specification up to 800 MHz.

The B110/1100 also, supports Hyper-Threading technology.

Also, the discussion HERE maybe worth a read.

Okay the cpu is:

Intel 2003

Pentium 4

3.00Ghz/1M/800

SL7E4 Costa Rica

3443A131

It comes from a ASUS P4S800 MX motherboard, 478 socket.

Hope this helps.

Using the SL7E4 in the 1100/B110, is an iffy proposition, read the discussion I posted.

I don't think it does any harm to try it, but I could be wrong. I tried a 533Mhz 'woodie' in my 2350 and it would not boot; I put the original CPU back in and all was fine, and later I put the woodie in a Biostar 478 upgrade board and it, too, worked fine.
