dimension E520
Have just received my E520 and was eager to test out. When playing cd music directly from the cd drive the system works fine. If i rip a cd to the hard disk or play some of the sample music from the hard disk the last bit of each song is garbled. Anybody else having this problem or know of a fix.

Hello JAWSIES, It is possible that the new memory is not compatible with either the existing memory or the Dell system itself.
Dell systems are picky about memory that will work properly in their systems.
You would need to verify that the new memory is compatible with your system.
Memory is recommended to be installed in pairs. If you have 2 different module sizes, they may not be compatible.
You might try and remove the 256 MB module(s) and see if the system will boot with the 1GB module(s).
Can you provide the Brand and model of the new memory and maybe we can check and see if it is compatible?
Hope this helps.
