dvd wont play at all
i cant get the dvd rom to reconize a disc at all. if fact it wont stay closed. what do i do? the cd rom works fine.its a old school dell windows xp
someone please help.

thank you so much. its a dell 4600 it was given to me as a hand me down, no complaints yet. no warranty.

oh yeah, a little back ground. when i first got it the dvd worked at that time i had dialup now i just got dsl. (i'm getting caught up) i think if it would
stay close long enough to read the disc it would probably work. when i close it, it goes in fine reads and then opens back up and stays open. when i turn it off it stays open.
