esata port on Dell xps 435T/9000

I can't plug in a male external esata startech cable into the esata port in the back of computer.

The port is "female"??

There seems to be a metal clip on side of port that is blocking the cable from plugging in.

Does anyone know what is going on?

Thank you

I have the same system and mine just pluged right in. No issue with the plugs. Are you useing eSATA cable or SATA?

I got the same problem. Just use a precision screwdriver to move away the metal clip that blocks the eSata port. You will have to insert your screwdriver between the metal clip and the case. You will see that the metal clip is only attached by one side to the case so it is easy to bend it and remove it from the eSata port.
