Hi gems_oo9,

Status of power button as blinking amber indicates that 'power supply' is receiving power from the source, but is unable to properly distribute it to the components in the computer. Let us remove flea power and see if that works. Please follow the steps listed below:
- Power off the computer
- Unplug all the connected cables from the back of the tower
- P

ress the power button and wait 10 to 15 seconds (This releases the static from the computer, if present)
- Plug the power cable, monitor calbe, keyboard and mouse back in
- Power on the computer to check if the issue is resolved

If issue not resolved, let us try to remove and reinstall RAM (Memory) cards, PCI cards and Power cable connections to see if that works.

Recommended Tools
- Small flat-blade screwdriver
- Small Phillips screwdriver
- Plastic scribe

Caution
- To avoid losing data, save and close all open files and exit all open programs before you turn off your computer.

- Save and close all open files and exit all open programs.
- To shut down the operating system, click ‘Start’ Icon and then click ‘Shut Down’.
- Ensure that the computer is turned off. If your computer did not automatically turn off when you shut down the operating system, press and hold the power button until the computer turns off.

Safety Instructions (In addition, take note of these safety guidelines when appropriate)
- Perform an orderly computer shutdown using the operating system menu.
- Turn off your computer and any devices connected to the computer.
- Ground yourself by touching an unpainted metal surface on the chassis, such as the metal around the card-slot openings at the back of the computer, before touching anything inside your computer.
- While you work, periodically touch an unpainted metal surface on the computer chassis to dissipate any static electricity that might harm internal components.
- Disconnect your computer and devices, including the monitor, from their electrical outlets. Also, disconnect any telephone or telecommunication lines from the computer.
- Doing so reduces the potential for personal injury or shock.
- When you disconnect a cable, pull on its connector or on its strain-relief loop, not on the cable itself. Some cables have a connector with locking tabs; if you are disconnecting this type of cable, press in on the locking tabs before disconnecting the cable. As you pull connectors apart, keep them evenly aligned to avoid bending any connector pins. Also, before you connect a cable, ensure that both connectors are correctly oriented and aligned.
- Handle components and cards with care. Do not touch the components or contacts on a card. Hold a card by its edges or by its metal mounting bracket.
- Hold a component such as a microprocessor chip by its edges, not by its pins.

Reseat Power cable connector:
This is the main power connector is a 20-pin header that provides the DC operating voltage and current to the system. Please reseat the connector properly. (Refer to the highlighted area in the image below):

Remove and reseat Memory cards (RAM)

:
This is how your computer's motherboard looks like. Highlighted parts are the connectors for the memory modules. Please remove the memory cards one by one and reseat them properly.

Remove and reseat PCI cards:
Highlighted parts are the connectors for the PCI cards. Please remove them one by one and reseat them properly.

Please click the following link to check the user manual for this computer. It will give you detailed steps for opening the tower and reseating the components: http://dell.to/PqNHqT
Please reseat these connections and check the computer to see if that works. Do reply with the findings. I would be glad to assist.

The GX270 comes in three different versions, the Small Form-Factor, Small Desktop and Small Mini-Tower models, which version do you have?

Open the case and check the motherboard for capacitors with bulging tops or are leaking, the tops should be perfectly flat.
