(redirected) Alienware Aurora R4 cooling fans

Downloaded windows 8.1 upgrade. Cooling fans began to run at 100%. Contacted Dell support, played around with PC and downloaded updated Command Centre. Problem seemed to be solved but a few weeks later. Began to have problems with desktop icons, keyboard and cooling fans again.

Support seemed have got the measure of the first two problems but the cooling fans are still running at 55% (not 100%) when the PC is first booted up after being shut down for a period of time.

Support say this is correct, I cannot except that I have to leave my PC connected to a power supply at all times for it to operate correctly.

Please can anyone give a way forward with this problem. I have began to seek a legal avenue with regard to my consumer rights. I have had PC since middle of October 2013.
