Max Ram is 8 Gigs. Use up to 4X of 2 Gig Dimms. Should be used in pairs.
4 GIGS is fine for most everything. Very Little Boost from adding more.
If you have Game issues Get a Radeon 7750 Video card.
Any higher cards cannot be more than 8 inches Long or they will not physically fit.
If you have a 620S then you MUST get a low profile single slot video card.

Hi guys, I'm looking to upgrade the CPU on my Dell Inspiron 620 which at the moment has an Intel Core i3-2120 Processor and is not good enough for my needs. I need to know which i5 Processor I can buy for it that is DEFINITELY COMPATIBLE with it, as I already bought one for it the other day but had to send it back because it wasn't compatible with it. So can you guys please suggest suitable i5 Processors which you know are DEFINITELY COMPATIBLE with my Dell Inspiron 620? Thanks.

It must be upgradeable, all I need to do is upgrade the PSU and then it will work surely? I'm thinking of using the Dell Inspirong i5-2500 which I have been told by multiple people is compatible. Only problem is that its 95 watts whereas my current i3-2120 is only 65 watts, and I only have a 300W PSU. Do you really think I will need to upgrade my PSU to handle a 95 watt processor? Just to let you know I am using an AMD Radeon HD 7750 Graphics card with this 300 W PSU and its coping fine, maybe that might change something.

Dell Doesn't support 3rd party processors.
Any Change should be done with Latest BIOS installed BEFORE changing processor.
620S will not be upgradeable due to power supply issues.
Intel Core i3-2120 processor (3.30GHz with 3MB Cache)
Intel Core i5-2320 processor (3.0GHz with 6MB Cache)
Intel Pentium processor G630 (2.70GHz with 3MB Cache)

Correction: there are only two DIMM slots so 4x of anything memory-wise is not possible. Use 2x of the 4GB to reach the max memory, 8GB.
I also upgraded the CPU to the i5-2320 3.0GHz processor and can report it's working solid with Win 8.1 Pro 64bit edition and 8GB ram.
